The MEET Palliative and Hospice Project is so glad to announce the 10th class for nurse about Palliative Care was held at the National Cancer Hospital in Hanoi from 24 Oct to 2 Nov 2022. The National Cancer Hospital is the biggest hospital and top ranking in Vietnam with 3 campuses. Over 14 thousand patients are in the treatment process.
This class, consisted of 34 experienced nurses (including 12 chief nurses from many medical wards) of the hospital plus 2 senior nurses of Hanoi Medical University hospital (an accredited hospital)
In addition to RN-Specialist Level 1, Ms. Hoang thi Mong Huyen, we had as instructors Dr. Smith-Kelly and Master of Nursing, Ms. Alyssa Grissom, both volunteers with MEET. Five other instructors providing lectures included Dr. Phi Thuy Duong and Dr. Nguyen Ba Tinh and 3 chief nurses (Mr. Pham Minh Tuan, Ms. Tran thi Thanh Thuy and Ms. Nguyen thi Thanh Mai). The class received very strong support from BOD of National Cancer Hospital, especially from Ph.D MD Doan Luc, Director of Palliative Care Center.
In closing ceremony, we were honored to have the presence of Ms. Pham Thu Ha, General Secretary of Vietnam Nursing Association. We had a short meeting to discuss the possibility for more similar classes for more nurses in Vietnam countrywide.
