2022-06 Cancer Treatment and Palliative Care Workshop
MEET organized a two-week lecture series on “Cancer Treatment and Palliative Care” from June 13th to June 24th, 2022. Volunteers from Vietnam and the US spoke to doctors and nurses on a variety of topics ranging from managing depression and anxiety in cancer patients to new treatments for lung cancer, lymphoma, and leukemia. Most lectures were given online, however, Dr. Kelly Smith and Ms. Alyssa Grissom traveled to Can Tho to give lectures at Can Tho Oncology Hospital (CTOH) and Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy (CTUMP) over a two-day visit.

MEET is excited about opportunities for future collaborations with CTOH and CTUMP. As MEET’s Oncology Project leader, Dr. Kelly Smith is planning on organizing online monthly oncology case conferences and in-person workshops several times a year.
