Family Medicine
The purpose of Family Medicine Exchange is to promote and encourage the training of Family medicine doctors in Vietnam.
It is also to encourage the establishment of Family medicine as a distinct specialty and promote the reorganization of Vietnam’s Medical system around primary care.
The emphasis so far has been in mental health training since that specialty is in very short supply and this sort of care is more efficiently delivered by primary care doctors.
We have worked closely with Dr Thuy, head of the Family Medicine Department at Can Tho University to achieve these goals.
