MEET's Nursing teams have been a necessary discipline  in numerous programs and relationships. Nursing assumes a prominent role in the Pediatric Surgery Delegation (PSD), the Palliative Care Team (PCT). And in Nursing faculty/student education, primarily at Can Tho University Medicine and Pharmacy (CTUMP) and Can Tho Medical College (CMC).

Nurses at CTUMP and CMC have welcomed nurse educators and clinicians, and work in several of the hospitals and in classroom settings. MEET's largest nurse delegation has been with the PSD, assisting our partners and teaching  surgical, recovery, and pediatric nursing. It is truly an international group of nurses with unique perspectives  and teaching approaches.

MEET’s Nursing education exchange has continued to grow under the leadership of Phuong Anh Ly, of our MEET Board. In the areas of Pediatric Surgery, OB/GYN, Pediatric Care Intensive Care and Midwifery, there have been numerous outstanding nurses from the US and UK, contributing their expertise.

Education has been provided at Can Tho Medicine and Pharmacy, Can Tho Medical College, the Children’s Hospital, the Oncology Hospital, and we will soon be signing a MOU with the OB/GYN Hospital to continue work together there.

As a collaborator on our April, 2017 trip, MEET appreciates the contributions of the Silk Road nurses who joined us in our educational exchange.

MEET is grateful for the talented nurses who have been inspired by the important work twice a year and continue to return and recruit new talent as well. Although our time is brief, our impact has truly made a difference in the development of on-going programs that have resulted in positive outcomes for the millions of people served in the region. Nursing developing rapidly in Can Tho, with a growing appreciation for the nurses’ role in medical settings.
